The International Confederation of Music Publishers (ICMP) has announced the appointment of leading global music publishing executives to its Expert and Regional Groups, reinforcing international collaboration across the sector.
AMPAL CEO Damian Rinaldi has been appointed Chair of the ICMP Global Regional Group - Asia Pacific (APAC), alongside Frederica Wong, Director Asia at Kobalt Music Group, who has been named Vice Chair.
In addition, John Reston, President of Global Administration at Universal Music Publishing Group, has been appointed Chair of ICMP’s Industry Metrics Expert Group.
ICMP represents major and independent music publishers, alongside more than 80 national Music Publisher Associations (MPAs) across six continents. Its Expert Groups were recently established as part of ICMP’s structural evolution, covering areas including legal affairs, metadata, collective management, classical music and rights, and industry outreach.
The Industry Metrics Expert Group brings together senior executives from global publishers and MPAs to advance data-led insights into the music publishing sector. Its work underpins ICMP’s landmark Music Publishing Markets Analysis, the first survey of its kind.
The Global Regional Group - Asia Pacific is one of five ICMP regional groups worldwide and focuses on region-specific market, policy and advocacy issues across one of the industry’s fastest-growing and most complex territories.
Commenting on the appointments, ICMP Director General John Phelan said the APAC region remains ICMP’s busiest, spanning intense industrial challenges, strong market growth and evolving advocacy priorities.
